There are up to 31 players who have played 100 or more games in Champions League —taking into account the qualifying rounds. Out of these, 15 have done so in the same team.

But from all the players that have ever participated in this competition, only one has reached 150 games: Xavi Hernández. And all wearing Barça's jersey.

Xavi entered the field in the minute 30 of the second half in the Bayern-Barcelona match, this Tuesday, replacing Iniesta. This way the Catalan player reached this round figure, the first player in history to do so.

Who can beat him?

There is only one player who can catch this record soon: Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casillas, who has played 149 matches. So if he plays this Wednesday against Juventus —which is quite probable— he will equalize Xavi.

The second Barcelona player with most matches played Champions League is Carles Puyol (9th in the overall list); he played 115 games.
