He tried it last season and in 2011
Sergi Samper is one of the most promising young players in FC Barcelona's academy, but it will be difficult for him to find a place in the first team, as Busquets, Mascherano and Sergi Roberto are front of him. That is why leaving the club could be an interesting solution.
The most interested in Samper is Arsène Wenger. According to the journalist Oriol Domènech (Mundo Deportivo), the Arsenal coach would like to have the player as a replacement for Mikel Arteta, 33, and would be willing to pay the affordable clause of €12 million.
The English team already wanted to incorporate him in 2011, when they signed the also Barcelona Academy players Jon Toral and Hector Bellerín. Last season Wenger tried it again, but Samper decided to stay at Barça B, where he would have prominence.
Samper knows he can not stay at FC Barcelona B, playing in Second Division B and, therefore, he should find a destination. Another option might be Lopetegui's Porto, where he would coincide with Cristiano Tello (and Iker Casillas).
