The Argentine hasn't scored with Barça, but he scored wonder strikes with other teams
In recent days much has been said about Mascherano becoming responsible of kicking penalties, due to the low accuracy when the trident does it. The fact is that Mascherano came to Barça in 2010 and has not scored any goals for the club yet.
However, the defense has scored a total of eight goals during his soccer career: one in River, two in Liverpool and five for Argentina.
1. Argentina - United States (December2003)
He scored the drawing goal in the 94th minute with a header. During the extra-time, the Argentines won; it was a U20 World Cup game. The goal is at 1:17 in the video.
2. Argentina - Colombia (January 16th, 2004)
South American Pre-Olympics Tournament Under 23. Mascherano makes the cross and, following a deflection with a defender (which completely desorient the keeper) it enters the goal. It's the first goal of the game (4-2 win against Colombia).
3. Olmedo - River Plate (February 25th, 2005)
His only goal with River was an authentic run, beating opponents and shooting from just outside the box.
4. Argentina - Paraguay (July 5th, 2007)
Great goal with a shot from outside the box in the Copa America group stage.
5. Argentina - Peru (July 8th, 2007)
Three days late, he scored again in the quarter-final. Here he took advantage of the goalkeeper's save on Messi's shot, who also scored that day (1:46 in the video).
6. Liverpool - Reading (March 15th, 2008)
His only goal in the Premier League with a long shot from outside the box. It comes after a long phase from Liverpool, with a final touch from the midfielder.
7. Unirea - Liverpool (February 25th, 2010)
He scored it in the Europa League group stage. Once again, he shots a long-ranger after a save from the goalkeeper.
8. Argentina - Trinidad and Tobago (June 5th, 2014)
His last goal was scored almost 2 years ago, in a friendly match. He followed the ball rebound on the post after Leo Messi's free-kick.
