History between "Zizou" and Luis Enrique goes back to 2003...
After Zinedine Zidane has been confirmed as the new head coach of Real Madrid, one of the pictures that spread the most on social media was of a physical argument between Barça's manager, Luis Enrique, and the newly appointed coach of Madrid.
The reason for that sudden enthusiasm is that those two footballers have been at the centre of one of the most unforgettable fights in El Clásico. During the 2002-03 season, in the Bernabéu, Zidane elbowed Puyol in the face and Luis Enrique, who then was Barcelona's captain, came up to the Frenchman to get an explanation. The game ended on a 1-1 draw and, ironically, Luis Enrique scored Barça's goal (Ronaldo scored for Madrid).
Here is the altercation in video:
Luis Enrique and Zidane faced each other in El Clasico between 2001 and 2004, moment of the Asturian's retirement. The Frenchman retired one season after.
We will see how things go this season between the two ex-players, now managers of two of the most important teams in Europe.
