In an interview with SPORT, Julen Lopetegui says everyone has chances
Víctor Valdés has not started the season well. After signing for Middlesbrough and being Aitor Karanka's first choice goalkeeper for the first Premier League match of the season. However, he hasn't performed in the next two due to injury.
In an interview with SPORT, Spain's new national manager Julen Lopetegui (former goalkeeper) was asked about if Valdés had any chance to make the team.
"We can't close the door to anybody. I am the national manager of all the players that can come. I am always aware of what is happening in all the leagues".
"We called Reina because he was the best goalkeeper in Italy last season". c
Maybe not aware of Gianluigi Buffon's performances last season, Lopetegui has a project in mind of calling up young players. With David De Gea as his number one goalkeeper and Iker Casillas (35) out of his first list, it's hard to believe Victor Valdes (35 too in four months) will join the national team ever again.
