Former Blaugrana goalkeeper breaks the silence with Middlesbrough
Catalan goalkeeper Victor Valdés signed last week for Middlesbrough. Although he had other offers, like the one coming from Manchester City, Aitor Karanka convinced him before, surely with the promise of starting in the line-up. Valdés, aged 34, ended his contract with Manchester United the 30th of June.
In statements to the website of 'Boro', Valdés confessed Karanka is one of the reasons why he chose that club.
"I’m feeling good and step by step, day by day. I feel this is a good challenge for me in the Premier League and that’s the main reason I signed here".
"The other main reason was the manager (Karanka). Now I’m looking forward to starting with the first game against Stoke City."
