TOP 5. Players who end contract and might fit in Barcelona

Luis Enrique Robert

Starting on January 1, 2016, the players whose contract ends next June 30 will be able to start negotiations with other clubs to leave with charter of freedom. FC Barcelona have rarely used this method to incorporate players, despite in some occasions it resulted in spectacular performance. Examples like Luis Enrique, Cocu or Larsson show that a zero-cost signing can mean a plus for the team. Other times the new players didn't perform as expected, as it happened with Santi Ezquerro or Van Bommel.

Taking into account the delicate situation of the club, we preparing a ranking of players whose contract ends and could join the Catalan club for free.

1) Sofiane Feghouli - Valencia

Really fast winger, good technique and with a great quality to cross. He could be a new Pedro and assume the substitute role of Messi, Suárez and Neymar. He is only 25 and he did great performances at Mestalla stadium, playing in both sides. A really recommendable option.

2) Marcos Alonso - Fiorentina

The son of the former Barcelona player Marcos Alonso is one of the most outstanding footballers in Italy. He is a fast promising 24-year-old left-back. Barcelona are following him and reports of this player trained in Real Madrid Academy are really positive. It would be a good substitute for Adriano, whose contract ends in June.

3) Joel Campbell - Arsenal

He did a great 2014 World Cup with Costa Rica, but he has still not showed his best in Arsenal. 23-year-old winger. He has played in La Liga, with Betis and Villarreal. He could be a substitute forward with ability to create danger on the side and create chances in difficult matches.

4) Ezequiel Lavezzi - PSG

One of the names that sounded more. It was said he might come in the winter market. Blanc doesn't count on him anymore in PSG, where he has a discrete role. He is 30 years old, but he still can perform in a good level. Barcelona could be a good way to go, but he might prefer to find a last big contract.

5)  Banega - Sevilla

Technical player who might fit in the possession style of Barcelona. He might be too irregular and he might find a lot of competition in FC Barcelona, but he comes for free, it would be a great option to become a good substitute. He is 27 years old and he still can play good soccer.

Other players whose contract ends

There's a long list of players whose contract ends and could come to Barcelona for free, but his transfer to the Catalan club seems complicated due to his age or technical qualities: Ibrahimovic and Van der Wiel (PSG); Ivanovic and Terry (Chelsea); Valdés (Manchester United); Handanovic (Inter) and Cáceres (Juventus).
