The coach says nothing to the trident: they have absolute freedom
This Wednesday, the journalist Javi Miguel explained in Catalunya Radio the routines demanded by FC Barcelona coach, Luis Enrique Martínez, before every match.
The staff always meet the players twice: the first time, the day before the match. In this meeting, Luis Enrique assistants play a video of the opponent to explain how they play, in general terms without details. The second meeting is done in the matchday, 1 hour and a half before playing, in the dressing room. This one is led by Luis Enrique and only the starter players participate. It's the moment to know who will play.
After a collective speech, the staff gives instructions line per line. They really give importance to the defense. Then, some words for the midfielders and finally for the forwards. If one of the attacking players is not Messi, Suárez or Neymar, Luis Enrique gives a personal speech to the "intruder." In case Messi, Suárez and Neymar play, Luis Enrique says nothing to the forward.
According to Miguel, this attitude is assumed by the squad with normality, because "they deserve it" and remembers that Luis Suárez said some day that they talk between themselves about the attacking work.
