Luis Enrique & Guardiola

Before his departure to Al-Sadd, Xavi Hernández was about to leave three times. The first, when he was about to sign for Milan, his mother convinced him to stay and succeed in Barcelona. In the other two times, two Barcelona coaches were the responsible that Xavi stayed. The player have explained it in two recent interviews in the newspaper Marca and in the magazine Kicker (according to Mundo Deportivo).

In summer 2008, when he was playing Eurocup with Spain, Xavi Hernández discovered that the club was negotiating his departure. Bayern Munich was interested. But that summer, Pep Guardiola became first-team coach and he convinced Xavi: "Stay here, you will have fun." After these words, Xavi decided to stay and this way he became part of the most successful period of Barcelona's history.

6 years later, in summer 2014, Xavi had arranged everything to leave to Qatar. But again a new coach, this time Luis Enrique, convinced him, and he decided to postpone his departure one year. This meant that he could win the second treble, and raise the 5th Champions League.
