Since he is Barça coach, every year there has been some kind of problem in the open-door training session in January
There is one day of the year that Luis Enrique particularly fears. It is not for sports reason nor competition issues. It's about a bad experience. According to the journalist Javi Miguel, Barça coach starts trembling when January is coming, Christmas holidays end and the club organizes the open-door training session.
The presence of the public (especially children) is not a big problem for Luis Enrique, although he does not like them to see how he works. Organizing a special training instead an intense session is not a problem neither. The problem is that in the last two editions, there have been problems: specifically, delays or absences of players.
The first year the matter was big: After a dispute with Messi for the defeat at Real Sociedad stadium, where the Argentine didn't play, Messi did not attend the training and the coach even considered cancelling the event. Finally the club said the Argentine suffered from gastroenteritis.
The second time, with a good atmosphere and tranquility in the squad, three players were missing at 10 am, the start time of the session. Specifically, Douglas, Arda Turan (who was about to debut with the team and people wanted to see him) and Jordi Alba (a specialist in arriving late to training). Although they ended up making an appearance (first, Arda, then, Douglas and finally, Alba), Luis Enrique's anger was considerable. It's normal that Luis Enrique doesn't really like to see that this day is coming.
