The teams that beat the Catalan coach ended being Champions League winners
Eliminating a Guardiola's team means having a prize. All the teams that have been able to beat him in the Champions League ended winning the title. It happened with Barça (Inter and Chelsea) and Bayern last year (Madrid).
Barça hope the same to happen in Berlin after a competition in which they beat league champions of Cyprus (APOEL), The Netherlands (Ajax), France (PSG), England (Manchester City) and Germany (Bayern Munich).
In the second year of Guardiola after winning 6 titles in a season, the club faced Mourinho's Inter in the semifinals to try to get a place in the final at the Bernabéu. The first match was conditioned by bad refereeing and Barça lost 3-1. In the second leg, Guardiola's team won 1-0 and a goal by Bojan was doubtfully disallowed. Inter managed to win the final against Bayern Munich.
In one of the matches where Guardiola dominated more over his rival, Di Matteo's Chelsea won the first leg of the semifinals 1-0 with a goal by Drogba. It was obvious that Barça were superior and a comeback was expected in the second leg, but a goal by Ramires when Barça were winning 2-0 collapsed all options. The second leg ended 2-2. Chelsea won the final against all odds facing Bayern.
In Guardiola's first season in Munich, Bayern reached semifinals as the big favorite team. In the first leg at the Bernabéu, the German side began to dominate but Madrid won 1-0 playing counter-attack. Fussbal Arena was the scene of a white gale: the result was a spectacularly 0-4. In the final in Lisbon, Madrid became Champion after beating Atletico Madrid in extra time.
What will happen in Berlin?
