Laudrup, Davids, Zambrotta and Thuram came to Barça from Turin
Gianluca Zambrotta and Lilian Thuram
In summer 2006 a massive fraud in Italian football related to referees and involving some of the biggest teams in calcium was discovered. Juventus was dispossessed two league titles (2004-05 and 2005-06) and relegated to the second division. With the decline, many players decide to leave.
This was used for Barça to sign a full-back , Gianluca Zambrotta and a center-back, Lilian Thuram, for €20 million. Two years later, the two defenders left the club: Zambrotta returned to Italy (Milan) and Thuram hung up his boots.
The particular case of Figo
Luis Figo signed for Barça in the summer of 1995, thanks to a ban. When playing for Sporting, he signed simultaneously with two Italian clubs: Juventus and Parma. Duplication of contracts was solved with a Solomonic judgment: he could not join any Italian team in two years. And Barça took advantage of it to incorporate him.
