Cheryshev

Scandal in Real Madrid which may have serious consequences. The club played this Wednesday a Copa del Rey game against Cadiz with wrongful line-up: Cheryshev had to stay one match without playing, due to a sanction coming from last edition of Copa del Rey. He was shown a third yellow card when playing for Villarreal, in the semifinals against Barcelona, the last Copa del Rey match before this Wednesday. He couldn't play against Cadiz, but he did.

The delegate of the team, Chendo, didn't probably know this situation and did not warn coach Rafa Benitez. The player started for Real Madrid and scored the only goal in the first half of the match.

This wrongful line-up may lead to the elimination of Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey. In a precedent of last September, Osasuna was expelled from the competition for the same reason: Unai Garcia couldn't play the Copa match against Mirandés and the Federation directly eliminated them.

Cadiz have already confirmed that they will report Real Madrid for the wrongful line-up.

There have been many reactions after this scandal. Even Gerard Piqué made fun of it with a message on Twitter:

In fact, Real Madrid could have avoided the situation: a referee tried to contact the club all day to warn them about the fact that Cheryshev couldn't play, but any member of the club answered him.
