"He played what he played and we thought the best was to leave"
Carles Puyol became Marc Bartra's agents some months ago and last week they agreed the transfer of the player to Borussia Dortmund. This Tuesday, Puyol talked about the operation and defended the transfer because of the lack of minutes the player had in Barça.
The former FC Barcelona captain talked in his hometown, La Pobla de Segur, where a Cruyff Court was opened. These football courts aim to promote the social inclusion of vulnerable children and young people through sport. The initiative is the result of the alliance between the Cruyff Foundation, CaixaBank and FC Barcelona Foundation.
"He is clam and focused in the Euro 2016. Due to his situation, it was better to leave. See his numbers. He has been brave. He played what he played and we thought the best was to leave. I really trust in him because he is a really good center-back."
"FC Barcelona have always been informed. There's a very good relationship and we are really thanked with the club. I can't say if it's been a good or bad business. Bartra knew Barça wanted him to stay."
"He is the one to say if he leaves or stays, but he was clear: he is happy at Barça."
"I have a really good relationship with him. He is a crack and does things meanness. Stopping him? It's impossible to stop Piqué."
"It's been a good season. 2 or 4 titles won, depending on how you see it."
