The player's agent confirmed two offers from Champions League clubs
Dani Alves has not accepted Barça's last offer to renew his contract. According to the player's agent there have been two Champions League teams that already made offers to the player. PSG is not one of them, said Dinorah Santana.
So, with the French team out of the table, let's have a look at the Premier League Champions League teams who could show some interest in the Brazilian full-back. There's one more than usual because Liverpool played the competition this year but won't do it the next season, and Manchester United will probably follow the inverse path. These two clubs would be more interested than Chelsea, Manchester City or Arsenal.
Jose Mourinho has the best right back of the competition in Branislav Ivanovic, who has scored 4 goals and given 5 assists this season in the Premier League. Cesar Azpilicueta starts on the left but he can replace Ivanovic on the right if necessary. Filipe Luis is the second choice on the left back and Juan Cuadrado, used as a winger by Mourinho can provide some help on the right back too. There's no room for Dani Alves.
Pablo Zabaleta is the first choice and one of the fan favourites. Bacary Sagna signed last season a 3 year deal on a free transfer. His performances haven't been very good but City seems to need other replacements which are more urgent than a right back. If none of them leave, it's a nonsense to sign Dani Alves.
Arsène Wenger has two clear choices on Mathieu Debuchy and Hector Bellerin. The French has been injured for a long period but was signed last summer and will be given another opportunity. Bellerin is playing now and doing it very well. Wenger has also used Chambers as a right back. With the manager's preference for young players, he's unlikely to sign Alves.
Louis Van Gaal has Antonio Valencia and Rafael Da Silva. The first one played more minutes this season because the Brazilian has been injured. Valencia ends his contract in 2018 and Rafael in 2016. Dani Alves will improve the squad in that position.
Brendan Rodgers uses a lot a system with two full back wingers, with three defenders behind them. Rodgers uses offensive players in that positions and only has Glen Johnson and Javi Manquillo as pure right backs. Dani Alves would be a better option.
