With doubles from Vargas and Alexis they overcame Panama's 2 goals
The game against Panama didn't start well at all for Claudio Bravo. In the 5th minute of the game he let go of a shot from the distance from Miguel Camargo, which meant Panama were leading 0-1.
With that score, Chile were still 3rd of the groupD of the Copa América and were out of the quarter-finals, but the efficiency of the attacking life turned the score around. With two goals from Eduardo Vargas, Chile ended the half leading 2-1.
In the second half, thanks to a great volley from Alexis, the Chilean players took a 3-1 lead.
But Claudio Bravo, in the middle of the second half, conceded again a goal that he could have clearly stopped easily.
A header from Alexis, in the last minutes of the game, gave the definitive win 4-1 to Chile.
Chile therefore finished second in the group D and will face Mexico in the quarter-finals.
