"I'd like to live a Barcelona-Madrid in a final for what it would mean, for the rivalry of the two clubs"
Less than a week is left for Champions League final. Everything is ready for the big clash against Juventus. Gerard Piqué talked about that match and about Barcelona in an interview at the newspaper Mundo Deportivo. Here you have his best statements:
"It is something that has only happened once, in 2009, and we have been the only Spanish team to get it. You almost never get the treble. That's why you can't think about it in the beginning of the season. You think about doing a good season, try to win La Liga because it's the regular competition, and then you can start thinking on La Copa and the Champions League."
"Now we can think about winning the fifth, and the sixth and the seventh... We are players with a long way to go. Look at the ages of the forwards. Messi is 27, Suárez is 28 and Neymar, 23."
"I'd like to play a Barcelona-Madrid in a final for what it represents, for the rivalry of the two clubs. I'd like to live the life to the fullest and I hope we can play that final someday."
Barcelona's state of mind
"The forward, the midfield, the defense... we have one of the best teams in the club's history. We coincided some young players that have to take profit of this situation and keep winning titles."
"Now we are used to winning but this can change in the future, so let's enjoy the current times."
A change after the defeat vs R. Sociedad
"I don't think we did a "click" after the defeat. The team just started to gain confidence and assume what Luis Enrique wanted. We won Atlético Madrid, something we couldn't do last season, and these gave us a lot of confidence."
"We know Juve will wait to counterattack with Tévez —we know him well— and Morata, who played a fantastic match against Madrid. They have Pogba, Marchisio and Pirlo in the midfield, class players, and the defense is really powerful."
"Being substitute was something new for me but I knew it was something I could change. I focused on what I could control, which is soccer and playing as best as possible. I'm really happy. Despite the difficult beginning of the season, I really enjoyed and let's hope to finish it in the best way."
The best center-backs
"There are big center-backs. Thiago Silva, Ramos, Pepe, Kompany... those in the big teams, but in the end there's something that makes you better: winning titles."
Luis Enrique - squad relationship
"A normal relationship. The same with Tata, Pep or Tito."
"We need certain distance, like with any director of a company, but we need a friendly relationship because we work together a lot."
