Piqué millor esportista català

An emotional Gerard Piqué collected yesterday the award for best Catalan sportsperson of the year given during the Catalan Sport Fest. Barça's defender wanted to end the little interview he gave to the gala's presenter, Xavi Coral, by dedicating the award to his parents, and he couldn't hold back the tears: "You always complain that I don't dedicate any goal to you because I dedicate them to Shakira; this award is for you", said Piqué.

During the interview, when asked about the future, Piqué repeated he doesn't want to be a coach: "To manage the ego of 23 footballers who all want to play? That is not for me", he assured.

The jury, composed with media and sponsors, elected Piqué for the five titles obtained last year, and Núria Picas in the women's category, for becoming Ultra Trail World Tour Champion for the second year in a row.

Otherwise, FC Barcelona have been elected best club of the year. Here is the list of the awards:

Best club: FC Barcelona

Sports legend: Santi Freixa (field hockey)
