The Belgian will be about four months out and Chelsea is looking for a veteran substitute
Víctor Valdés could end in Mourinho's Chelsea. According to the website calciomercato.com, the English team is looking for a goalkeeper to substitute Thibaut Courois, who will be four months out due to a sever injury on his knee. Mourinho doesn't really trust the other goalkeepers in the team, Begovic and Blackman, and the starter in the last years, Petr Cech, left this summer to Arsenal.
The Portuguese team wants a top goalkeeper to compete in the Premier League and Champions League. Víctor Valdés is the main option. Van Gaal doesn't trusts in him and he has not been registered in the Champions League. He has quality to be starter in a team like Chelsea.
Now the problem for Valdés is to get free rein from Manchester United and sign for Chelsea free agent. The market is closed and transfers can't be done. The only option would be termination of the contract. We will see in the upcoming days if Chelsea are really interested and if Valdés ends playing in a team with other former Barcelona players: Cesc and Pedro.
