The Dutch center-back fulfils Barça's requirements
Barça are still looking for a center-back to strengthen a weak positions of the last season. With the question of continuity of Mascherano and the possible departure of Bartra and Vermaelen, Robert Fernández will have to get one or two players for this position.
One of the names that appeared in the last few hours is Daley Blind, the Dutch center-back currently at Manchester United. As reported in the British media Sky, Mourinho doesn't count on Blind for next season and has already placed him on the transfer list.
The Dutchman was a signing who asked Van Gaal when he came to Manchester United in 2014. Blind did a great World Cup under orders of Van Gaal and that time he was already linked with FC Barcelona. Manchester were faster and paid €17 million to Ajax to get the services of the son of the legendary Danny Blind.
This Wednesday, the newspaper Sport placed the player in Barca's orbit because he fits the profile wanted by the Catalan club. Blind, 26, is good when playing the ball out of defense, one of the priorities when looking for a player for this position. He is left-handed and can be complemented with Gerard Pique despite not standing out to be very fast.
Blind ends contract with Manchester United in 2018 and is now looking for a team where he can fit better. On the orders of Mourinho, he knows he won't have minutes of competition, as the Portuguese tend to bet for more forceful center-backs.
