Mascherano didn't play a single minute
Although Tata Martino warned that he would take the risk to play Messi because he wanted to win group D, he finally didn't start him. And he didn't need him either because, without Messi (who only played the second half) nor Mascherano (that watched the game from the bench), Argentina scored 3 winning goals to Bolivia and qualified for the Copa América Centenario quarter-finals as first of group D.
Erik Lamela opened the score in the 13th minute, a free-kick that (after bouncing on the wall and quite luckily) got in the goal deceiving the goalkeeper.
2 minutes later, Ezequiel Lavezzi, who was starting for this game for Argentina, took advantage of a ball in the box, after a series of defelctions, to realise Argentina's second goal.
After half an hour into the game, in the 32nd minute of the first half, Víctor Cuesta very fortunately scored the third and last goal of the game.
During the second half, Leo Messi got onto the pitch and, although he had no influence on the score sheet, he had a few plays full of class, that the opponents had to stop irregularly or that ended because of an offside position.
"#CopaAméricaEnTyC It seems like something is getting away from the Bolivian goalkeeper..."
"CopaAméricaEnTyC Don't get our Chuck Norris angry because Bolivia's goalkeeper can suffer."
Argentina will play the Copa América Centenario quarter-finals against Venezuela.
