The Uruguayan player is the most efficient in the Blaugrana trident
This week Luis Suárez has become the first player to achive two 4-goal games in two consecutive games in La Liga's history. Also, the Uruguayan has reached this historic figure of 8 goals while shooting only 10 times on goal, according to the data gathered by Carles Domènech. It means that Suárez has had an efficiency rate of 80%. If we extend the shooting figures adding the shots that were not on target, it makes 15 shots, which means the Uruguayan has had a 53% efficiency rate in total.
Going further in the calculation and taking into account the 34 goals he scored in La Liga, Suárez reached that number while shooting 68 times on target: a perfect 50%. It means that one shot out of two Suárez makes on target ends in the back of the net. A really spectacular number. Moreover, a striker with Suárez's characteristics shoots way more on target than off or on the post.
Comparation with Messi and Neymar
We have already seen that according to data gathered by Carles Domènech, Luis Suárez converts 50% of his shots on target in goals. When compared to the other components of the trident, the Uruguayan is the most efficient, since Messi gets 35% and Neymar 40%.
In the general stats, in La Liga, of shots (they don't necessarily have to go on target), Suárez has scored 29% of his shots, a figure that is over Neymar's 23% and Messi's 21%.
In other words, Luis Suárez is an absolute finishing specialist.
