The coach appeared before the match vs Deportivo

Luis Enrique appeared in press conference this Friday before the last Liga match against Deportivo. After Xavi's farewell, this Thursday, he talked about the midfielder. "I think Xavi has the level to stay in Barça but he decided to leave." He also admitted he hasn't talked about next year's plannification and revealed a starter for this Saturday (Xavi) and that Vermaelen would debut. Here you have his best statements:

Xavi

"If Xavi was 25, I would renew him for 25 more years... but life goes by for everyone."

"This is professional soccer and all the footballers get old."

"I think Xavi has the level to stay in Barça but he decided to leave."

"Xavi may now not receive the balls the same way he is used to here; he might receive melons or watermelons instead of balls [laughs]. It's a joke, but of course he will find a different football in Qatar."

End of the season

"We have the chance to end the season in the best way, so there's a lot of motivation."

"I couldn't imagine having the chance to win the three titles. I don't think about that kind of things. You must also be prepared for things not going well."

Future

"My future next year? I have nothing to tell you about that right now."

"No. I haven't talked about next year's plannification with the Football Director."

"I can also control the last three matches. After that election in the club's board... but next season can be prepared later."

Match vs Deportivo

"Vermaelen playing tomorrow? Yes. And Xavi will be starter."

The squad

"I have seen unity in the squad since the beginning of the season."

Alves

"Alves' renewal? Both parts, the club and the player, can talk and reach an agreement."
