"Winter market is over, so it's not necessary to talk about it any more..."
Luis Enrique appeared this morning in press conference before Copa del Rey semifinal match vs Valencia —first leg, Wednesday at 9pm CET. The coach insisted in the fact that their aim was to get new players from the winter market, but said it was useless to talk about it anymore, as the transfer windows closed this Monday.
Here you have his main statements:
The failed signing of Nolito
"Our plan was to sign, but it wasn't possible. All the teams want to improve."
"This affecting me? No".
"Market is over so it's not necessary to talk about it any more."
"It will be a tough round for both teams but we are willing to get a gut result."
"It will be different from La Liga. That day they didn't have a coach and basically defended and used counter attack.
"From 0 to 1 million, Neymar is affected 0.0001. We've been many years with this topic... we are tired. There's nothing to do with soccer."
"Luckily, Messi is 100% ready."
The level of the team
"It's normal that some opponents complicate things for us. February will be tough as well. We already knew the calendar would be like this if we overcame qualifying rounds. The team have no doubts."
"There's still a lot of La Liga to be played."
Guardiola to Manchester City
"As soccer lover and friend of Pep, I'm delighted he signed for City. It will be an amazing period for the club."
"It will be really attractive to see him introducing his soccer ideas in a country where they play in a really different way."
