The Dutch manager tries him as a striker

Gerard Deulofeu won't come back to Barça this summer. The Riudarenes native has started a new project at Everton under the spell of Ronald Koeman, however let's not forget the Blaugranas sold him with buy-back options in the first two years. It won't be this time, therefore Barça will have one more opportunity to get him back next summer if the player's improvement is significant enough and if the technical secretary and the coach see it fit.

New position

Last season Deulofeu started very well, making assists - generally to Lukaku - but his performance and game time dropped in the final part, which corresponded to the more difficult time of Robert Martínez's team, who ended up being let go.

Ronald Koeman is his new coach. And it is obvious he has been following him for some time. In the last friendy game against Barnsley, in which Deulofeu scored one of the three goals of his team, the Catalan played alone as a striker. A position he had occupied often with Barça B.

"We had a lot of speed up front with Gerard. It might be a different position for him but I know he played there with Barça B. He is very quick and he will help us create a lot of danger", Koeman affirmed after the game.
