Another week another occasion to shine for Barça players around the world. Here is a glance at Barça main prospects (on-loan players and buy-back transfer options) and at how they performed this weekend.

Denis Suárez

Adama Traoré - Aston Villa - Buy-Back Transfer

Did not play (broken bone injury)

FA Cup - 3rd Round - Wycombe 1-1 Aston Villa (09/01)

What was feared as a simple pulled hamstring turned out to be much more serious for Aston Villa's winger Adama Traoré. Subbed off last weekend after making a difference in the 1-3 defeat at Sunderland, he logically missed the FA Cup Third Round at Wycombe (League Two), that his club drew 1-1. Adama suffers a broken bone injury that will keep him away from the pitch for a while. He will probably miss the replay game at Villa Park, as well as a bunch of League matches, as his club announced through a statement on its official website that the Malian magician will be out for between 8 and 10 weeks. In his absence, Remi Garde's players could not overcome a 4th division team battling for promotion in League Two. All Villa fans are expecting Adama's return already.

Gerard Deulofeu - Everton - Buy-Back Transfer

Did not play

FA Cup - 3rd Round - Everton 2-0 Dagenham & Red (9/01)

Willing to rotate his lineup for the Cup game against League Two side Dagenham & Red, Roberto Martinez let Gerard Deulofeu on the bench as Everton calmly won the game 2-0. Ivorian Aruna Koné (32') and Belgian Kevin Mirallas (85') were the goal scorers. Alongside Deulofeu, Ross Barkley and Tim Howard, who are usually starting, did not play either. Manager Roberto Martinez managed that way to preserve forces for next Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Alen Halilovic – Sporting Gijón – On Loan

La Liga - Day 19 - Villarreal 2-0 Sporting (10/1)

Played 90 minutes

Week in and week out, Sporting Gijón struggles to get a win. This weekend's clash against Villarreal at El Madrigal was no exception. Against a very strong side, 4th in La Liga and candidate for a Champion's spot next season, Alen Halilovic and his teamates suffered another loss - the 4th in a row in La Liga - 0-2, despite the Croatian gem starting and playing the 90 minutes. The main responsible's name is Cédric Bakambu. The Frenchman scored a double (26', 51'), his 7th and 8th goals this season.

Denis Suárez - Villarreal CF - Buy-Back Transfer

Played 90 minutes

La Liga - Day 19 - Villarreal 2-0 Sporting (10/1)

On the opposite side of the pitch, Denis Suárez was thrilled by his teamate's deadly precision in the area. Once again in the starting lineup of the "Yellow Submarine", the young Galician did not particularly shine in a game his team did not dominate at all (only 49% ball posession and 6 shots). It took Cédric Bakambu's full offensive talent to secure the 2-0 win and reach 39 points in the table. Thanks to this victory, Marcelino García's side gets a 8-point gap with 5th place Celta Vigo.

Martín Montoya - FC Internazionale - On Loan

Serie A - Day 19 - Inter 0-1 Sassuolo (10/1)

Did not play (on the bench)

Tough weekend for Martín Montoya with Inter. Indeed, Serie A leaders lost 3 precious points in what should have been a routine win at home in Giuseppe Meazza. But against 6th place Sassulo, battling for a European spot next season despite the loss of Simone Zaza gone to Juventus, the game was tense until the very last minute. Incapable of scoring in spite of 18 shots - only 6 on target - a very nervous Inter reflected by Miranda's conceeded penalty lost the game at the 94th minute. Former Atletico Madrid defender fouled Frenchman Grégoire Defrel, fiving away a penalty Domenico Berardi converted gladly. Because of the loss, Inter abandoned their leadership to Gonzalo Higuain's Napoli. Inter are now third, behind Juventus, in Serie A table. Helpless on the bench, Montoya did not play one single minute. D'ambrosio was the starting right-back.

Cristian Tello – FC Porto – On Loan

Liga NOS [Portugal] - Day 17 - Boavista 0-5 FC Porto (10/1)

Did not play (on the bench)

Another weekend of frustration for Catalan wonder Cristian Tello, despite Porto's stylish victory at Boavista's venue. Stuck on the bench for the whole game, Tello witnessed the offensive festival his teamates offered in Liga NOS Day 17. Herrera (11'), Corona (62'), Aboubakar twice (72' & 81') and Danilo (90+3') were the goal scorers. Awaiting for Benfica's game that was reported on Sunday, Porto secured their second place in the table behind leaders Sporting Lisbon. As for Cristian Tello, he will have to wait some more before to get some playing time. Let us hope it will be next Wednesday, for the Taça de Portugal (Portugal Cup) quarter-final at Boavista once again.
