According to English media, Stones is said to have turned down Barça because of Manchester City's interest
The British daily newspaper Daily Mail transmitted informations about Stones' turning down an offer from Barça. It is said to be an offer comprising a wage close to 5.5 million Euros a year. The two parties supposedly met last week, but the offer didn't convince Everton's centre-back. According to the same source, the reason for that is the interest of Guardiola's Manchester City in John Stones, a project more attractive to the defender.
Until now, the favourite to be implemented in Manchester City's defence is Aymeric Laporte. The English club could pay the buyout clause of the Frenchman to Athletic Bilbao. However, according to the Daily Mail, the Citizens are still interested in bringing Stones in defence.
