A few hours before the game, Juan Carlos Navarro's injury was known, because of a biceps femoris strain on the right leg. But thefans quickly forgot about it. Fantastic start from Barça that, after 6 minutes, was in front 17-2. Good attack and good defence facing a helpless Madrid. The first quarter ended with an incredible score: 25-4.
The second quarter started the same way. Triples from Barça and constant errors of Madrid. 31-8 after 3 minutes. 0 out of 8 three-pointers for the Casa Blanca. Despite a light reaction from Madrid, Barça kept making threes and maintained the 20-point differential. 36-16 after six minutes. But in the last moments, Madrid got more precised as for three-pointers and slightly filled the gap. Half-time arrived and the score was 40-28.
The third quarter started in a more balanced fashion, with a 14-point differential. After a few minutes of trying, Perperoglou made a three that put Barça 17 points ahead. And Barça had more free throws that enabled them to get a five-point lead (70-65), with Madrid constantly stopping time with fouls. But Madrid players couldn't find the solution to come back again and Barça ended up winning 72-65.
