Alexander Hleb will not play against Barcelona next Tuesday with BATE Borisov in the group stage of the Champions League. The Belarusian footballer suffered hip physical problems that have prevented him play the latest games and coach Alyaksandr Yermakovich announced that he has not been included in the squad list.
Aged 34 years old, Hleb has a secondary role in BATE. He wasn't starter in the Champions League play-off. Against Bayer Leverkusen he played 31 minutes and 18 against Roma.
We'll see now if he is ready to face Barcelona at Camp Nou, next November 4. Anyway, it would not be his first return at the Catalan stadium. He already did so with Stuttgart, in the 2009/10 season.
Hleb played only one season at FC Barcelona (2008-09) and his performance was very disappointing. Last week, in an interview in Catalunya Radio, he explained that he had personal problems with coach Pep Guardiola.
