Agüero: "I told him a penalty didn't change anything."
After Argentina lost to Chile in the Copa América Centenario final, Leo Messi recognised he thought his cycle with the Albiceleste national team had come to an end. However his national teammates don't picture Argentina without him:
Sergio Agüero, before Messi's announcement:
"Unfortunately, the one that was the most affected was Leo, for missing the penalty. I had never seen him worst in the dressing room."
"I told Messi that one penalty didn't change anything..."
"We're very affected, we will try to think about nothing else but going forward."
"Once more luck wasn't on our side."
Sergio Romero, after Messi's announcement
"I think Leo Messi reacted immediately, because we had a very clear opportunity that went away."
"We will try to keep our heads up and recover for what is ahead. I don't think about the national team without Messi.
