The goalkeeper, from the German school like Neuer, has a good feet play
On one hand, Marc-André ter Stegen has regularly shown discomfort with the situation of the goalkeeper in FC Barcelona. He doesn't really like to alternate with Bravo. When asked about that, the German says is not considered a goalkeeper of the future, because "the future is far" and that he wants to be the goalkeeper of the present. And the club believes that he does not play enough games to prove it.
On the other hand, Josep Guardiola will arrive this summer in Manchester City. The Catalan coach will arrive from Munich, where he made contact with the German school goalkeepers (Neuer is starter both in the Bavarian team and the national team) and is delighted with them. He has already planned reforms for Manchester City and one of the most important ones is in the goal. And Ter Stegen has a basic characteristic: excellent feet play.
So Ter Stegen is a clear candidate to occupy the English goal next season. Especially if what the newspaper Marca says is true: People around Guardiola says Ter Stegen perfectly fits with the goalkeeper the coach is looking for. The conditions, however, are clear: Ter Stegen has a contract with Barcelona until 2019 and the clause is €80 million.
Only time will tell if the goalkeeper follow the same way as Thiago Alcántara in 2013, who left Barça to play for Guardiola in Munich.
