Rafinha's injury has disrupted plannification in Barcelona's Sports City. The Brazilian was a key player as a substitute and he could play both in the midfield and the forward. With his injury and the fact that the club can't sign players until January, Luis Enrique doesn't rule out the option to join players from the B team.

The player in pole position to join first team is Gerard Gumbau. The young 20-year-old player was the only to train with the first team this Friday. One of the usual ones, Sergi Samper, wasn't there, but he was training with B team to prepare the weekend match.

During the preseason, Luis Enrique also counted on Gumbau, a working and fit midfielder, with a good technique. He could join squad list to face Levante this Sunday if Alves is not recovered and Sergi Roberto has to keep playing as right-back. The Brazilian hasn't received medical green light yet, but this Friday he could train with his mates.

Gerard Gumbau was born in the village of Campllong (Girona, Catalonia) was trained in the lower categories of Girona FC and in the summer of 2014 he signed for FC Barcelona B. He debuted with the first team in a Copa del Rey match against Elche in the round of 16 which Barcelona won 0-4 and played some friendlies this summer with the first team. We'll see if this Sunday he has the chance to debut in La Liga.
