The goal is to get €20 million per season
The delicate economic situation of FC Barcelona and the construction of a new Camp Nou forced the board to start looking for a sponsor to name the stadium, according to the newspaper Sport.
The aim would be to present the offer to the members in the Assembly of 2016, and for this reason, the club will start searching now. The club has already chosen a partner to start the project: the American company Van Wagner. Since 1998, they have closed 16 transactions of naming rights and has worked for major clients such as the New York Jets, New York Giants or Arsenal.
Regarding the operation of finding a name for the stadium, Barcelona's board claims they should get a minimum of €20 million per season. This type of agreement are usually for a long period such as 20 or 30 years and the income will be used for the construction of the renovation of the Camp Nou approved by the members of the club.
