He might have not declared image rights' incomes in 2011 and 2012 tax return
A court in Gava has agreed to launch a charge against Javier Mascherano on two counts of tax fraud. The Argentine has been accused of evading the payment of taxes by by ceding the rights to companies he owns in Portugal and the United States with favourable tax rates, according to EFE agency.
The Argentine is alleged to have failed to declare over 1.5 million euros ($1.7 million, £1.1 million) in 2011 and 2012.
Mascherano is not the only Barcelona player who has had problems in this regard. Leo Messi and his family have already conflicts with the Treasury and, last week, Brazil court freezes €42m in Neymar assets over Barcelona transfer.
