In the very last minute against Real Madrid (2-3)
Barcelona means Leo Messi. Leo Messi means football. In the very last minute at El Santiago Bernabéu, the Argentinian star stole the show once again and gave his club a great chance to win La Liga 2016-2017. Messi is the greatest. No matter how many Golden Ball's can win Cristiano Ronaldo, who wasn't at his best at the other side of the pitch.
Luis Enrique's men needed a reaction after the Champions League elimination agaonst Juventus. And they played a very good match. Real Madrid had a lot of chances to win it as well, but Ter Stegen was brilliant. In fact Keylor Navas was also brilliant at the other end. Both teams created many chances and it was only decided at the very end when Leo Messi, in the 92th minute, won it for Barcelona.
Real Madrid had scored first thanks to Casemiro, who was lucky later to stay on the pitch after several fouls. Marcelo also played with fire when he elbowed Messi, but the one that was sent off was Sergio Ramos for a dangerous tackle with both feet at Messi. By then the Argentinian had already equalized and Ivan Rakitic had just scored the second goal for Barcelona.
With 10 men, Real Madrid managed to put things level again. James Rodríguez appeared from nowhere to beat Ter Stegen. With only five minutes to go, Madrid kept attacking, leaving huge spaces behind.
Sergi Roberto started the last play of the match. He took it from the defense to the attack and gave to Andre Gomes. The last one in touching was Jordi Alba, who found Messi outside the area... and the rest is history. The legend continues. Messi scored his goal number 500 with Barcelona.
