The concert organised in Camp Nou the week before will prevent the pitch from being ready for the day of the game
Bruce Springsteen officially released new dates of his concerts of "The River" tour, he started in January. For the beginning of his European tour, the 'Boss' will land in Barcelona to perform on the 14th of May, just one week before Copa del Rey final (tickets will be available on March the 1st). On the 17th he'll be in Donostia, in Anoeta, and on the 21th he'll perform a concert in Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu.
Considering that the Copa del Rey final is due the 21st of March, the 3 stadiums have been ruled out to host it: Bernabéu, because there is a concert on the same day, Camp Nou and Anoeta because the state of the pitch won't enable a game of football to be played on the 21st.
Therefore, the alternative solution of Vincente Calderón stadium to host the game between Barça and Sevilla is now more obvious than ever, because of its capacity and its location. With the two stadiums with highest capacity in Spain ruled out, the options left are: La Cartuja (Seville, 60,000 seats), Mestalla (Valencia, 55,000 seats) and Vicente Calderón (Madrid, 54,851).
