According to Mundo Deportivo, the club can't assume the high price of the operation and Luis Enrique already has many midfielders
Paul Pogba will not be able to fulfill the dream of playing for Barça alongside Leo Messi. The club have refused to sign him and have so informed the Italian club, according to the newspaper Mundo Deportivo. Although the club blocked a possible transfer from Juventus in the summer, they have now decided to give up the signing of the French star. Other clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are already moving to incorporate him next summer market.
The reasons are economic and sporting. On the one hand, Luis Enrique thinks that the priority is to incorporate a center-back with projection, a left back to compete with Jordi Alba and a forward who could assume the role of Pedro; Nolito, if possible. The coach already has many midfielders (Iniesta, Rakitic, Arda Turan, Rafinha and Sergi Roberto) and although he likes Pogba, he considers it's necessary to strengthen other positions.
As for money, the club plans to spend €65 million on new signings in the summer + incomes for transfers. Juventus asked for €100 million for the player and his agent, Mino Raiola, wants the French to be one of the best-paid players in the world. An operation that would have an astronomical price and that the club could not assume.
With this background, the club dismissed the operation of Pogba and it seems that this summer many will be said about the player, because he wants to leave Juventus and has many interested clubs.
