Barça have fallen down in the Women Champion's League quarter-finals after losing to PSG in the 2nd leg in Paris, on a 86th minute goal, when there was very little time before the extra-time, as the first leg ended up 0-0.
During the first moments of the game, PSG weren't very threatening. Only two chances that the goalkeeper Sandra Paños stopped with merit. As minutes went by, the French had more control, but Barça's defence was reacting very well. However, the Blaugrana girls couldn't bring danger on the opponent's goal. The long-distance shot from Melanie that went wide of the goal was the clearest chance of the first half.
At the very beginning of the second half, PSG missed a very clear goal when Cristiane, alone in front of the goal, kicked the ball off target, a few inches away from the post. PSG's siege was continuing, and Barça kept resisting, clearing balls with the help of great saves from Paños.
In the 80th minute, with a score of 0-0, Bárbara had the clearest chance of the whole draw: After a pass from Jennifer, she entered the box alone, but the goalkeeper dove and stopped the ball. Actually, in the last minutes PSG noticed the fatigue and Barça were stretching a little.
But as it seemed like there would be extra-time, Cristiane made a header in the 86th minute and Sandra Paños saw the ball bouncing off her body, to slowly go to the back of the net.
There was the end of the dream for Barça Women this season. Xavi Llorens' team can be satisfied of having resisted until the very last moments to one of the main teams in Europe, PSG.
