Not only have Barça cut distances in relation to Madrid's domain on the fields, but they are also doing it regarding the value of the club. According to the Forbes magazine ranking, the Blaugrana club raised to the 2nd position of the most valuable clubs in the world (2014), with $3,163 million. This way, they push Manchester United down, a club that had leaded the table for many years. Over the last five years, Barcelona have gone from the 5th position to the 2nd.

The first place is still occupied by Real Madrid, but not far: $3,263 million, 5% less than last year. Barça's value also decreased, but only 1%. Over the last season, Barcelona earned $657 million, and according to experts, this season this figure will be higher, specially with the signing of new contracts with Nike and Qatar Airways.
