A figure for optimism and to think that, despite not winning the Champion's League, the season can make history
Barcelonism took a hard hit with the elimination in the Champion's League on Wednesday. The club won't be able to become the first one to win two Champion's League trophies in a row nor winning two trebles consecutively.
However, Barça still have two clear options on winning the other two competitions (if the team manages to stand up and stop the bad dynamics of the latest games). Barça are leaders in La Liga in which there are 6 fixtures remaining and will play the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla.
Manuel Tomás, from FC Barcelona's documentation centre, gave a figure for optimism and to think that, despite not winning the Champion's League, the season can make history: Barça hasn't won twice La Liga and Copa del Rey in two consecutive seasons since 1953. In the 1951-52 and 1952-53 seasons, the team coached by Ferdinand Daucik achieved that performance, the last one in the club's history.
El Barça encara pot fer història i encadenar dues temporades seguides guanyant Lliga i Copa, una cosa que no passa des de l'any 1953. Ànims.— Manuel Tomás (@1964Manel) 14 d’abril de 2016
Barça can still make history and win La Liga and Copa del Rey twice in a row, something that hasn't happened since 1953. Cheer up.
