Although the midfield is one of the most well-stocked sectors of the squad, Barça are trying to sign André Gomes. The 22 year-old Valencia midfielder is one of the players that Barça like the most and the first contact has been made, according to Sport.

The Valencian team knows that they have very few chances to retain a player approached by many teams. In 2 seasons in the Spanish league, André Gomes has already shown he's ready to make the leap into a greater club and he is doing a good European Championships with Portugal. In addition, the player would be very glad to be able to play in the Camp Nou.

With this perspective, Valencia are trying to get the highest amount possible out of the transfer and, as of now, they won't set the price of his buyout clause any lower than 40 million Euros. Juventus offered 25 million Euros for the Portuguese but they faced a 'no' as answer.

Barça on their part are looking into this transfer without rushing anything. The club is aware that they have already up to 6 players in that position (Iniesta, Rakitic, Sergi Roberto, Arda Turan, Rafinha and Denis Suárez) but if an opportunity comes by, they would try to seal the deal because he is a player with a very positive image in Barça's eyes.

According to Sport, the club will consider the transfer around 30 million Euros and they can lower it more by including 2 players like Halilovic and Tello, who belong to Barça and interest Mestalla. The Blaugranas' Board think that the sum of those player could reach 12 million Euros and would make the whole operation easier.

Barça could also end up selling Arda Turan if a very satisfying offer is made, since the Turk has had problems to adapt and had very disappointing European Championships. With that money and a spot for another midfielder, the signing of André Gomes would be much easier to make.
