The keeper wanted to be forward, but an injury changed the story
Marc- André ter Stegen had enough with the first months to prove he can be a good starter for Barça with effort and going on. In an interview to the paper El Periodico, the player said that "since I was young I played well with both feet, having two options to pass when I had the ball, the opponent didn't know if I was about to kick with the right or the left foot, this is difficult to defend."
Regarding his idol under posts, the German knows it: "Khan, Buffon or Casillas, but specialy Khan," he says. However, Ter Stegen said that he doens't want to be anybody, since "every keeper is different from the others."
From forward to keeper
When he was young, the player wanted to score, but an injury of a teammate changed his professional destination. "I wanted to be centre forward or having a highlighted role on the team, but being 11 one day a keeper got injured and nobody wanted to be on the keeper's place I said yes." Now, on the other hand, the German wouldn't change the goal for anything in the world and believes that "if I keep on playing as forward I wouldn't be here."
