Every keeper has assumed his situation by this stage of the season. Jordi Masip has only been involved in the Spanish Cup, and not plenty of times, because ter Stegen has covered his position in the latest rounds. The German is the chosen one in the Champions League and Claudio Bravo's duty is in La Liga.

This is a very important week for the future of both main goalkeepers. If eveything goes at it should, ter Stegen will play against Manchester City and Bravo against Real Madrid. Both have performed well during the whole season and it's been very difficult for Luis Enrique to choose one or the other. However, when these kind of matches finally arrive, then is where the greatest players show their full potential. Despite the manager saying that one mistake won't change his selection, in big games, one mistake does really matter.

It's not only the mistake, it's also how the goalkeeper can cope with it, resist the criticism, live with it and finally overcome the whole situation.

Marc André ter Stegen will be first in action this Wednesday. David Silva, Yaya Toure and most importantly, Kun Aguero, will be his most dangerous opponents. The German has showed incredible qualities this season. Not only a great technique with his foot, which has been probably his most impacting skill. Ter Stegen saves goals, and he has earned some victories for the team. But one great performance against Manchester City and he will be ready enough to claim the nº1 spot in every match of the season.

It will be the same for Claudio Bravo against Real Madrid next Sunday. It's just speculation, but these two matches, if they don't go the way Barça fans want to, could mean something in Luis Enrique's first choice fight goalkeeper. Maybe not thinking in the next games, but in the next season.
