Espanyol's president explained the situation in RAC 1
The war between La Liga clubs and the TV continue in Spain. The last example are the statements by Espanyol's president, Joan Collet, this Wednesday in RAC 1. Angry at the inefficiency of the Spanish government to release a new law that regulates the TV rights, Collet said: "there are clubs ready to stop the league if the government don't release the law".
"If there isn't a decree about the TV rights, then we are ready to do it"- warned Collet, that says that there might be someone who doesn't want this to happen.
One day after the announcement from the Premier League of a new big deal on their TV rights, Collet says the British league is the role model: "Any club of the Premier League can come now and sign your best player because they can pay him the double you do. This will continue happening if we don't fix the situation".
