The French explained to who he dedicated the goal he scored against Real Madrid
Jérémy Mathieu is shy man, a few words man, but sincere and not afraid to talk. Little by little he won Luis Enrique Martinez's trust, he made him be starter on El Clásico at Camp Nou. The French talked about his sensations after the goal against Real and other personal aspects and about the team in an interview to Mundo Deportivo.
Before and after the goal against Real Madrid
"When I saw the ball coming to my head I thought: 'I must score'. After scoring my body exploded, it was an incredible feeling, to score in El Clásico."
To who do you dedicate the goal?
"It's a little bit for everybody that gives me support, and that trusts my abilities, in my game. And to Barça, that signed me, for the trust they had in me."
Relationship with the team
"It is people that talk about me a lot, but in the team, with the coach and the club I feel very well and I think that the team trust me a lot."
Anoeta, inflection point
"We players changed out attitude; without that it could've been very complicated. It is possible that we were too much confident, and sometimes you relax. A change was necessary after losing against Real Sociedad."
Being sincere in the world of football
"Everybody knows I am this way, that I tell the truth. It is better for me and telling a lie is not useful at all. That's it."
Quarter final against PSG
"It is a very complicated round. In the group stage we lost in Paris, it was a difficult match and now we know it will be difficult again."
Message for supporters
"We have to play this way, simple. The most important is that they give support to us, either if we win or if we lose; here is where you see if they are real supporters. When we lose it's important that they are supporting us as well."
