No comeback date announced, as it will depend on his evolution
Good news for Sergio Busquets. FC Barcelona annonuced this Thursday morning that for the moment he will only miss match against Rayo Vallecano (this Sunday at 12pm CET) and that his comeback will depend on his evolution.
He will work to play the match against City on March 18
The fact that a concrete comeback date has not been announced is a reason for optimism, since it might mean he is ready to play the Champions League match against Manchester City next March 18 and El Clásico against Real Madrid next March 22.
Sergio Busquets underwent some medical test this Thursday morning after coming back to Barcelona to discover the exact diagnosis of his injury. This is what Barça's official statement say: "Club doctors confirmed that Sergi Busquets’ ankle injury picked up in the game against Villarreal on Wednesday will rule him out of this Sunday’s league clash with Rayo at the Camp Nou and that his availability beyond that will be carefully monitored."
The injury was produced in the minute 39 of the match against Villarreal after hitting Pina, during the play that ended with the opponent's goal (Dos Santos). The midfielder had to be stretched off. Mathieu replaced him and it seemed he had suffered an important injury. But in the second half he came back to the bench and Barça announced this ankle injury. In the comeback to Barcelona, we could see him limping a little bit.
