Arsenal have overcome group stage in the last 16 seasons but they haven't reached round of 16 since 2010. In England they highlight the bad luck of Arsène Wenger's team in the Champions League's draws, as they almost always have to face the favorites. In this edition they will play against FC Barcelona, champion of the treble last season.

Let's take a look at the last opponents Arsenal have had to face in the round of 16 over the last six years:

2010/11 - FC Barcelona. They ended second in the group stage behind Shakhtar Donetsk and then they faced FC Barcelona, which would end being champion.

2011/12 - Milan. They ended first in the group stage but then they faced one of the most dangerous ones, Milan. The Italian won and then they lost against Barcelona in the quarterfinals.

2012/13 - Bayern Munich. After being seconds in the group stage, they played against Bayern Munich, the final champion that season with Heynckes on the bench.

2013/14 - Bayern Munich. They had to face Bayern again after finishing second in the group stage. That year, Guardiola's Bayern reached semifinals and lost against Real Madrid.

2014/15 - Monaco. Probably the easiest opponent after being second in the group stage. But Monaco defeated Arsenal and lost in the next round against Juventus, the opponent of FC Barcelona in the final.

2015/16 - FC Barcelona. After a last-minute qualification in the last match, Arsenal finished second in the group stage. Now they will face Barcelona, the current champion.
