Barça won to get to the quarter-finals of the Champion's League against a brave Arsenal team, which tried to obtain a miracle, offering a succession of attacking and defending Barça didn't refuse.

Here are the keys to the game:

Open game

If Arsenal wanted to overcome their 0-2 deficit of the first leg, they had no other option but to come to Camp Nou with the intention of going up to get Barça, make their ball clearances hard, occupy the opponent's half and look for Ter Stegen's net, risking the counter with space in the back. They tried it and the first two shoot were from the Gunners with Barça being a bit contemplative in the first minutes, letting the initiative to the London team.

Even ball possession in the first fifteen minutes.

If Arsenal controlled the ball, Barça tried to still it and that kind of pressure, especially in the opponent's half, Luis Enrique's men know how to do it. Collective work, with Suárez's sacrifice as an example, as he once again recovered a ball leading to a goal. Recovery, quick combination to take advantage of the open space because of Arsenal risks in the clearance. Few touches, transition and verticality to not let any options to the Gunners' defence.

Barça accept Arsenal's game

It seemed like Barça wanted large possessions. To make Arsenal run to tire them out, shake their morale and reduce their opportunities to find the goal. A bunch of large possession plays (one of over two minutes) but not much more. Arsenal, even more forced to attack, looked to go back and forth and Barça, trying to slow down the pace, accepted the invitation, despite the effort it could require.

Arsenal had chances, but they weren't lethal in the box. Barça took advantage of the space in the back of the opponent's defence and forced Ospina to intervene in more than one occasion. Blaugranas were satisfied with the way things were going and imposed themselves to play in an attractive fashion, adding risk, although the transition game, normally, implies a higher number of chances, including in favour of the rival.

Arsenal attacking in transition:

A la represa, el guió no ha canviat i l'Arsenal ha trobat recompensa al plantejament amb l'empat a 1 d'Elneny. De fet, en els primers minuts de la segona, s'ha produït una situació molts estranya al Camp Nou.

After half-time, the scenario didn't change and Arsenal got rewarded for their attitude with the drawing goal from Elneny (1-1). Actually, in the first minutes of the second half, a very strange situation in Camp Nou took place.

Arsenal with 65% of the possession in the first 7 minutes  of the second half:

Barça, fixed with their idea, maintained their attitude of accepting the ball to be played close to the box, knowing that it would feed the hopes of the opponent. The offensive quality of the Blaugranas, however, once again chased any doubts there might have been. Quick combination and ball in the box to get the goal of the 2-1 and end the discussion. Messi's deciding 3-1 completed the goal night of the Trident.
