Brazil was knocked out of Copa América last night following a controversial loss against Peru (1-0). With that result, the Seleçao went from first in Group B to 3rd place, and is now out of the competition. Peru (with 2 wins, 1 of them against Brazil, and a draw) and Ecuador (that beat Haïti and are second with 1 win and 2 draws) are going through.

The duel between Brazil and Peru has seen two plays very badly interpreted by the referee, the Uruguayan Andrés Cunha. In the 43rd minute of the first half, he didn't blow his whistle to give a penalty to the Peruvians: Edison Flores entered the box and Renato Augusto made him fall, but Cunha didn't sanction him.

"#CA2016. The controversial play that could have resulted in a penalty for #Peru."

In the second half, the Peruvian goal came up in a very controversial way as well. A Andy Polo run on the right-hand side ended, after beating Filipe Luis, in a cross to the penalty spot. There Raúl Ruidías appeared, scored the goal, but triggered protests from the Brazilians'part: has he scored with his hand?

"#CopaAméricaenTyC PERU GOAL! With controversy, Ruidias scores the 1-0 and with this result Brazil are out."

Although the player stated that the ball "touched [his] thigh", on this image it is clear that he scored with his right arm:
