The future of Adriano Correia has changed dramatically since the beginning of the preseason. From the possible transfer to Roma to the decision to stay at the club this season and even the possible renewal. As reported by the radio station RAC1, the player and the club are finalizing the details of the contract extension that might link Adriano with FC Barcelona until 2018.
The lows in defense (Douglas, Alves and Piqué) have left the team's rearguard very exposed. As in the case of Pedro, the club was not looking for a way out for him if the clause was not paid (€90M). Currently the Brazilian has contract until 2016 with an optional year.
With the renewal, which could happen in the upcoming days, the club might extend his contract for another year and, therefore, Adriano would be tied to the club until June 2018. Last season he played 27 out of 60 games, including 13 as starter.
